Seismic Century
Published on the 100th anniversary of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake by Bay Nature magazine. Faultline data from USGS. The epicenter of the 06 quake, long thought to be at Olema, forty miles NW of San Francisco, was recently revised much closer to the city, just offshore in the Pacific. I learned of the update just before press time, thanks to a tip from historian Philip Fradkin. Click on the map to download a detailed pdf version. Copyright © 2006 Bay Nature Magazine.
